Hey MSM! You don’t control the narrative anymore! You did all you could to keep the vile, depraved, grisly story of America’s most gruesome serial killer, the abortionist Kermit Gosnell, but thanks to the fearless Phelim McAleer, Ann MacAnn McElhinney and Magdalena Segieda who have committed themselves to getting this story told, you’ve been circumvented.
More than 23 THOUSAND individual donors have pledged over 2.1 MILLION DOLLARS to ensure that this movie gets made, that this story is told. Pledges range from a single dollar (581 pledges) to $10,000 (17 at that level), evidence of the will of so many people to tear down the walls that the media gate-keepers have erected, proof of the passion we have for the truth.
Lately, so many have been silenced, and the slog for our “fair share” of the narrative seems overwhelming. But we should all take heart in this tremendous achievement, and kudos to Phelim, Ann and Magdalena for their courage and determination to fight back and ensure that this heart-rending story gets told. And even as I write this, feeling celebratory and exhilarated, I’m brought up short: the story is horrific, and the pain that will be revealed is something that barely bears contemplating. These three filmmakers will be traveling a journey that is hard to fathom, and along with our pledges of dollars, I hope we also send strength and support to help them through it.
******UPDATED!! They have added a “Stretch Goal” of 30,000 donors by the close of the campaign, midnight May 12th. From MRC:
The stretch goal isn’t financial. “We want to build an army,” said McAleer. “We want 30,000 people to donate to the project – we want to send a message to the networks and cable channels that there is an audience out there and we want to prove that by showing all these people were willing to pay for this film to be made.” He stressed that even giving just a dollar helps drive home the point: exposing the media’s near-blackout of the story.
